Thanks in advance and thanks for looking at our listing!WELCOME TO OUR SHORT 3 DAY sale FOR THIS VERY COOL IMPOSSIBLY HARD TO FIND VINTAGE COPPER AND BRASS PONY EXPRESS RIDER\'S BUGLE MARKED \"PROPERTY OF C.O.C. & P.P. (CENTRAL OVERLAND CALIFORNIA & PIKES PEAK) EXPRESS COMPANY\" from the 1800s. This came from the estate of A. E. Brewster, sherrif of Wilson County, Kansas from 1917 to 1923 whose 1800s Montezuma Hotel Las Vegas Hot Springs correspondence I\'ve been selling here on -the letter pictured will be included, though it says nothing about the horn, the horn was found with it and about 200 others in the same trunk. It was all a local attic find. Its condition is as shown missing the mouth piece and with a nice patina. The grand daughter of the previous owner started to clean it and I immediately stopped her when I noticed what she was doing. There\'s absolutely no record of another on Google, only the mention of the fact that all Pony Express riders carried one. You\'ll never find another one. Please take a look at the photos provided for your consideration and offer accordingly.A nice one and a hard to find addition to any collection!! Take advantage of our sale and don\'t let this one get away!!!

On Feb-20-18 at 22:06:10 PST, seller added the following information:

From the american-historama website: \"riders were kitted out with a pistol, a bugle, a rifle, gloves, boots and a Bible. As a rider approached the station he would blow his bugle, alerting the stocktender to prepare a fresh horse.\".
