Big lot of Fountain pens in generally good condition, although some need repair.All have solid gold nibs except for one.
Montblanc 221 in black resin with 14K gold flexible wing nib in fine width. Piston working. Barrel, section nib and feed in good condition, although nib is scratchy. Could probably do with a polish, but I can\'t see the problem with a loupe. Cap has a 1.5 inch crack through it. Minor brassing to trim.
Montblanc 224 in black resin with gold filled cap with 14K gold springy wing nib in fine width. Piston working. Barrel and section in good condition. The left tine of the nib has been bent up slightly, causing misalignment and a scratchy writing experience.Cap isgood, but has plating wear, especially around the base.
Montblanc 24 in black resin with 14K gold flexible butterfly nib in extra fine width. Piston working. Pen in generally very good condition except for a crack in the section about 1cm long, although this doesn\'t seem to affect flow or the cap seal. Clip is quite brassed. There is a small spot of what looks like glue on the barrel about 2mm in size.
Parker 65 Flighter in stainless steel with gold trim. Beautiful condition with lovely, soft and flexible 14K gold nib like all 65s. Only issue is some lightly engraved initials on the barrel.
Parker 65 in black with rolled gold cap. Usergrade. Cap has a few shallow dents. Barrel is good with some minor scuffing at base. The section is shrunken though which is common, and may cause leaks. Nib is good, soft and flexible in Medium width, but appears a little misaligned under a loupe. Writes well though.
Parker 65 in green/grey with rolled gold cap. Very nice condition with only tiniest dings in cap. Nib is lovely M width.
Parker 45 in Blue plastic with 14K gold nib in what writes like a stub. Very nice pen in very good condition.
Waterman Exclusive in marbled brown lacquer. Parts pen in bad shape. The cap is good with some crazing to the lacquer and plating loss on the bottom ring. The barrel likewise, but with a 2mm spot of lacquer missing. The section has cracked into 2 pieces. Only the nib and feed is useable. 18K gold fine width.
Waterman Man from the 1960s. This is the original Man pen and the precursor to the current top-of-the-range Watermans. It was the first pen to use the very large size 6 bi-colour nib in 18K gold. The pen is in black plastic with gold trim. It\'s in great condition except for a very thin crack at the top of the barrel about 1cm in length. It does not seem to affect the sturdiness of the pen and it screws tightly to the section. There is some mild plating wear to the top of the clip, and the Platinum mask at the point of the nib has worn away. It writes like a medium even though it looks like a fine. It has a very pleasant response which you can hear as you write. A bit like my vintage Onoto number 5 nib, which probably doesn\'t mean anything to you. These nibs are the most flexible large Waterman nibs ever made (since the 40s probably), and are interchangeable with the modern MAN 100, which uses a stiffer version of the same nib and uses the same feed. A great way to add character to your MAN 100.
Waterman Concorde in black plastic. Great condition with some scuffing to the plastic but bright, complete gold trim. 18K gold nib is springy and extra fine.
Waterman CF in brushed stainless steel with gold plated trim. This is what Parker would term a Flighter. Probably the most robust of all CFs as there is no lacquer to wear and the nib shroud, which commonly corrodes when gold plated is still in perfect condition. It looks like chrome, but may be stainless steel too, which would explain its longevity. 18K gold firm nib with a broadish line. Very good condition.
In the pictures you will see a Black Parker 75, a colourful no name pen, a gold plated Waterman Facette, a second stainless steel CF and a Sheaffer Lady in brushed steel. These are not included in this sale, as they were sold whilst I was creating the listing, so made it to the pictures but not the description.
