Photograph Notes: The ground has changed out of all recognition since I took this picture on the first day of the match between Cambridge University and the Australian tourists, who are being led out after tea by their captain, Bobby Simpson (Mike Brearley captained the students, who were bowled out for 251). This long-gone pavilion was at the Gresham Road end of the ground where the Fenner's Lawn flats now stand. The current one is at the other end - see [[[2161274]]].I had come over on the train for the day from a stay with relatives in Cromer. At nearly sixteen I was too cool to have a Pacamac like the chap on the left, or a duffel bag and turned-up jeans like the boy in the centre.
