ITEM DESCRIPTION

This item was made in the very early 1950s and so will have rougher manufacturing markings consistent with this time period. Some people mistake these manufacturing marks for defects, surface scuffs, melt marks and so on. If you cannot accept this fact, please do not purchase.

The LaSpina Guide 2013 edition lists this in undamaged condition at $3500-5000. I do not have a newer edition.

This is one of the rarest PEZ you will ever see on or anywhere else. With only about 5 or 6 examples known in this color, it is a highly sought after item for a number of reasons---1) it\'s a rare color of an already rare dispenser, 2)it is the locking cap version (which is a name given in the early days of the hobby and isn\'t \"accurate\" in the sense that it doesn\'t actually lock), 3) it is a BOX TRADEMARK which is the earliest dispenser design known and believed to be from 1948-1951.

CONDITION---there are a number of issues with this item so look at pictures carefully and read ALL THE DESCRIPTION.

CAP---has a stress crack on the thumb grip (see pics from both sides), also the front edge of the cap looks a little \"jagged\" which may just be an uneven factory molding. It doesn\'t appear to be chipped.

INNER SLIDER---on the back side of the cap area, some of the plastic on the inner slider has broken off and if I did not tell you this, you might not even notice, also the \"locking button\" does not appear as large as others I have seen but this may just be as it was made at the factory. I see no evidence the button is broken

STEM---small chip out of bottom edge below the \"T\" in \"trademark\", the slot where the \"locking button\" fits appears to be a little uneven so it may have some damage OR it may be a sloppy mold break from the factory,

On one of the sides that does not say PEZ the middle seam has numerous short \"hash\" marks that are seen on some earlydispensers and are believed to be factory markings plus there appears to be some pitting in this area and I do not know what to attribute that to other than possibly the crude manufacturing at the />
