• It is identified as theOctober 1913edition of theEraquadrangle, compiled by the United StatesGeological Survey,Department of the Interior. Era had originally been called Palestine,before its name was changed to Era in 1899.
• The image area of the map measures 44.5 x 34.4 cm [17½" x13½"],and the coverage area is bounded by longitude 83°00' W to 83°15' Wand latitude39°30' N to 39°45' N.
• The map is drawn on a scale of 1:62,500, with contourlines at 20-footintervals. It locates roads, towns, schools, railroads, fords, andnaturalfeatures, as well as individual homes and farms.
• It labels the Ohio & Erie Canal as "Abandoned"and locates the eastern boundaryof the Virginia Military Land.
• Other named places and features include Pherson,Kinderhook, RebellionSchool, the Cincinnati & Muskingum Valley Road, Darby Creek,Bulicks Ford, Clarksburg,Chillicothe Road, Frogeye School, Recks Ford, Five Points, Yellowbud,Scioto River, Robtown, Crownover Mill, Tick Ridge School, Darbyville,Williamsport, and aneighboring section of RossCounty.
