Beautiful oriental table lamp painted black enamel with birds ,mountains ,tree and flowers.
Looking at the cord I am guessing 1920-1930
I do not think the peacock shade retainer is original to this lamp.
I did not test it but both sockets and pulls seem to function.
No repairs are noticeable
The height is adjustable by loosening the screw .the height as sitting is 26 1/2 inches
