Jose crafted these horse wood carvings just for us at DeSilva Imports! His first horses ever, and we love them! They turned out great, with such a beautiful and difficult to achieve sense of movement in the positioning of the head and the raised foot. Talk about Whimsical... this adorable brown horse wood carving comes complete with a mane of wild hair! Masterfully carved by young carving artist Jose Fuentes, the youngest brother of Julia Fuentes, and his wife Fany. This horse is done in a mostly brown pattern, with pops of color as accents. The mane and tail are hand crafted of the fiber from the Maguey cactus! So cool! In Spanish it is called the ixtle fiber, and it gives a wonderful texture and a unique visual appeal.
