This model VII style compass has a top card mounted on a mother of pearl board andhad an inner scale marked every 5 degrees and outer scale marked every 1 degree marked with the reciprocal bearing in reverse for viewing through the prism. The leather case is beautiful! All intact, no ripped stitching, or tears, or cuts, the carry strap is complete with perfect buckle, and is over 5 ft. long and the case closure buckle also is perfect.
There is no rot, or mildew, case is supple and tight, displays beautifully, Both leather straps are complete with no breakage, and shoulder strap is nearly 5\' long.(Please see high def, digital pictures).
This compass came from a collection of WW1 items brought back by a high ranking officer WW1 NZ veteran.
