Presenting:1956 RCA Orthophonic HF-5 Series 4 Speed Phonograph in Mahogany
As close to MINT condition that you will find anywhere!
Looks GREAT, works GREAT, and sounds GREAT!
This beautiful antique has been in my family since new, delivered just before the Christmas Holidays, so, we could all enjoy listening to Christmas albums.
As I remember it back then, or was told, it probably set in motion my career/hobby, even though I was just a toddler back then!
I have listed several of my record players to make room, I no longer have the area to showcase or store these, so, they are offered for sale to the next \"keeper of music reproduction history\"!
This has been lovingly cared for, serviced professionally since new, has always worked very well, cartridge has been replaced, along with the flip over style, diamond stylus.
I took over the servicing this and every other electronic gizmo my parents purchased after my formal education, but this never required much servicing at all, a couple of tubes replaced over the years and needles, most recently, a new cartridge.
It sat in a corner of the living room with a doily (sp?) on it for as long as I can remember.
The original shipping tag is still on the hinge.
Turntable works excellent on all speeds, reject mechanism works smoothly as well.
The complete unit shuts itself off after the last record is played.
VIDEO OF RCA HF-5 VIDEOS to my Custom Made, 6 Tube Motorola Powered, 3 Channel HF-5 Record Player, also listed for sale on IS MY PERSONAL CUSTOM MADE MOTOROLA POWERED CONSOLE, SHOWING THAT SIZE DOES Great videos showing all players playing the same record in a controlled setting, although my vote is for My Custom Motorola powered, 10 Tube Console Stereo, my hat\'s off to the RCA Sound Engineers for the HF-5, such a beautiful and awesome sounding phonograph, a small, compact cabinet!Back to the specifications on the HF-5 Phonograph:Original finish, never redone, just polished many, many times! The cabinet has held up well over the years, and has just enough patina to lookmuseumcorrect!
This model even has the original, gold colored, pencil tapered legs that screw off for shipping.
It also has the optional RCA plug in the back, along with the stereo slide switch inside the cabinet, to hook up an optional tape recorder for stereo playback.
The only item I do not have with it is the RCA 45 RPM Spindle, although I am sure you can find one on .I did verify that the spindle and reject mechanism are in great working order, so, just finding a 45 rpm spindle will be the only thing you need to buy to have a complete phonograph, if I can locate one, I\'ll include it at no extra cost.
All functions work as they should, this is a GREAT sounding phonograph that will always evoke a comment, or, a happy story about days gone by, and will fill your room with clear and rich musical memories!
I will pack this like it was coming to me, I\'ve learned how to package these in the many years that I have been in the business.I double box, bubble wrap, pad with styrofoam, and insure it also.
Leave the packing to me, the world today will give you enough worries, I always use Fedex.
This record player, as beautiful and original as it looks and sounds, is Sold As Is
If you take good care of it, this should last another 60+ years! Heirloom Quality!
Reasonable offers considered
