Nootka Makah Fine Twined Cedar Bark & Bear Grass Bottle Basket 10" For Sale

Today we're offering a fantastic, old, bottle basket made by the Nootka or Makah people, circa early 1900's.This is one of many N.W. Indian baskets collected by the Doran family of N.W. Washington over the past 40 yrs. or so. Along with baskets, there are carvings, bead-work and various other artifacts that make up this wonderful collection. It is our privilege to be able to offer this collection to you on their behalf. So please save us to your favorite sellers list so that you'll be notified as we add new listings. It measures 10" tall. It's made of cedar bark and bear grass. The basket covers a brown bottle. It's decorated with open weave work in cedar and what look like flags in dyed bear grass.The condition is very good. The designs have faded with time. We do not find any real damage or repairs to this basket. Please examine the pictures carefully - we have provided photos from every angle so you can determine the condition for yourself.
