\"It has long been since a pen was manufactured invoking such emotions as the Millennio di Bassano. Bassano del Grappa is where Montegrappa, the oldest pen manufacturer in Italy, is located. Inevitably Montegrappa was approached to produce an official pen commemorating the 1000th anniversary of the founding of this city.
Adorning the clip of the Millennio di Bassano pen, one finds the city crest of two lions climbing the tower amidst grapes and vines denoting Bassano where Grappa, a strong alcoholic spirit, is made. The winged lion is the old symbol of the Republic of Venezia that can only be found in this region.
The barrel encapsulates the famous wooden bridge stretching over the Brenta River. On the wooden bridge at both ends, there is a small tavern where wines and spirits are served and is a meeting point for the locals for a drink or a chat. The surroundings of the Bassano where beautiful mountains and vineyards are found inspired the further elaboration of grapes and vines found on the pen. The crown found on the opposite side of the winged lions is a duplicate taken from the old crest of the city.
At the top of the signature rolling ball clip is a miniature finely embossed crest of the city of Bassano.
