Description of the RetabloThis Retablo is unique that it is not only painted but there is intricate carving throughout the piece.The Feast Day of this Saint San Pascual Bailon is May 17. He is the Patron of sheep, shepherds and cooks. He lived from 1540-1592 and was a Shepherd from Aragon who became a Franciscan. He lived a very humble life and was distinguished for is devotion to the Most Holy Eucharist. He is considered patron of cooks because of the legend that his kitchen duties were miraculously taken care of while he prayed before the Blessed Sacrament. (Taken from the back of the Retablo).
