The mask is then handed down through generations with each new wearer adding adornments. According to the We, as each generation adds to the mask, it grows in ritual significance and power. This wood mask has incrusted yellow glass beads, raffia, red cloth, various pigments throughout and various pieces of cloth, tied in different manners to create the idea of hair, crown or helmet.
