Mauchline Tartan Ware Desk Set Portable Letter Holder Two Inkwells, Pen Holder For Sale

I have the honor and privilege of selling the collection of an avid and discerning collector of Mauchline Ware consisting of transfer, checker, Parian, fern and tartan ware with a smattering of a few other finishes. I will be listing them in bite size batches over the next several months so that over time collectors can absorb the depth and breadth of the collection. This gentleman amassed an amazing collection of pieces, some of which I have never seen before and I have seen many collectors\' collections over the years. This unidentified Tartan footed or pedestal desk set is onw of the finest pieces of Tartan Ware I have ever seen.. But I\'ve never seen anything like it before and it is truly magnificent, rare and unique! Everything about is perfect; it was obviously well taken care of and cherished. The top is a three compartment letter holder. On the front is a metal decoration resembling a cherub. To either side are inkwells with brass tops and in the front is a large pen/pencil holder. it is truly a desk by itself. The piece measures 7 5/8\" tall, is 7.5\" deep and is 15 5/8 long or wide. The stand is in excellent overall condition with just some minor imperfections, there is some loss to the tartan on the upper right hand corner of the paper or envelop box and some of the ebonized finish behind the left inkwell has been worn away. But please look at the photos to determine the condition for yourself.
