Don Sergio is the Chaplain of Drivers.I think Don Sergio is the only priest in the world to have demolished their church with a bulldozer because it was unsafe (but then he rebuilt it), and this has deservedly earned the nickname "Don Scrapper" and even the affection of all his parishioners and acquaintances, not least Commendatore Ferrari who gave him this unusual and sympathetic nickname.The Mille Miglia of 1955 was that won by Moss and Jenkinson in a Mercedes at the highest ever achieved average.British journalist Denis Jenkinson (1920-1996), Moss' co-pilot in that epic race, wrote several times that if you don't know Don Sergio Mantovani you cannot claim to really know the world of motor racing, and in particular that of F1.In 1961 Don Sergio inaugurated the new parish nursery school made possible thanks to contributions and donations made by many drivers (including Enzo Ferrari).
