M1906 Cavalry Troopers Saber (Ames Co.):
$200.00

M1906 Cavalry Troopers Saber. Steel two tree guard, unsharpened \"R\" marked blade (Rarer than the \"F\" marked.), U.S. JHC inspection stamped, A. S. Co. (Ames Company) with ordnance bomb, and 1906 stamping. Nice deep stamping! Very straight blade with original 100+ year old patina with no rust on the blade! Has some leather flaking issues on the hilt. Has the complete original wire wrapping which seems to be 50/50 nowadays with these sabers. Every other one has the brass wire twist wrap or its been lost to history. People have a tendency to call it a 1906 sword, its not, its an M1906 Saber at its simplest. Theres a little forward to rear play of hilt, but not left and right. Honestly could be shored up easily if wanted. Honestly not a real problem in my opinion, but i dont want to leave anything out if i can help it. Some pitting on the pommel. Its 35\" in length.

*Only

Every US military history enthusiast should own an M1906 saber! Especially if you were or are a Cav Trooper like myself. I own 3! Along with other sabers from our US military past. This is the last saber that was modeled after the heavy cav saber since the Mexican-American War having the same 2 tree guard. Changing from brass to steel. Even the US Cavalry Association has put out an M1906 saber a couple years back to reproduce this saber as the ending of our horseback days to the mounted war machines we are famous for now all while keeping the spirit of a bygone past! Ive taken my M1906 out on a few \"Spur Rides\", lol! Testing the shavetails for their silver spurs. If you have any questions or anything let me know as the pics are part of the description. If u need more let me know. I used up all the photo spaces there were. Thank you for looking! See you at the Green! God Bless...Cav, Hooah! Scouts Out!

*Total of 18,961 M1906 Sabers were EVER made! Making it in reality one of the scarcest of edged US Weaponry. Along with the M1902 Officers Saber made by Springfield Armory, but that was the scarcest made by a company...this is an entire model total! If you think about it, only 18,961 people can own an original if only one of each owned one. Since i own 3 myself, that number is actually smaller along with a couple other trooper friends of mine that own multiple themselves. If you don\'t believe me, look up the number of M1906\'s yourself that were produced.

**Only saber is for sale in the pictures. Just where its been sitting in my living room so i just snapped the photos. No Scabbard, sorry. You can get replacement scabbards to Military spec for this saber for around $40. If you would like that info upon purchase i will be more than glad to share that! Money has been tight so thats why i never got around to picking one up.
