This is a superb example of a type of workmanship where art and religion overlap. This beautiful estate jewel will charm you with its fine filigree construction, completely three-dimensional, its large and very wearable size and its overall design. The cross is made of solid 10 karatyellow gold (markedand tested). It even has a very roomy filigree bail that would accommodate most chains. The workmanship and attention to detail is astonishing. With its bail, the piece measures 3 1/4 inches tall and 1 7/8 inches across. Not counting the bail, it measures 2 5/8 inches tall and spans 1/4 inch on each of the four-sided panels of the body and arms. It is embellished with four round finials at its ends. The front has a smaller filigree cross as its centerpiece and a line of gold bosses that run down the center. Aside from this centerpiece and bosses, the front and back are identical in workmanship and fully finished.This treasureis in immaculate condition andweighs an astounding 9.5 grams.
