Large French Empire Moliere Statue Bronze Ormolu Gilded and Patina Clock Pendule For Sale

Superb French Early 19th CenturyFigure of Moliere Bronze Patina and Dore Ormolu Clock with Silk Suspension Movement, in Excellent, Fully Working Condition

Moliere was one of the greatest masters of comedy of all time. Fantastic clock depicting Moliere with \"Le Tartuffe\" (one of Moliere\'s most famous plays), in superb condition. Original gilding of ormolu pieces is bright and shiny, with a few minor places of tarnish. Patina of the figure and the scene is outstanding, the quality of bronze casting is simply superb. Embossed dial has numerals a bit faded (as expected for a clock of this age), but still looks amazing. This clock is truly a work of art. The silk thread suspension movementis marked by its maker, it is clean,strikes perfectly and runs well. Pendulum and bellwere removed to take a better picture of the movement, but both are included with the clock (I will include a key, as well). Pictures speak for themselves, but do let me know if you have any additional questions. The clock measures 23\"(58.5 cm)high and is quite heavy.
