Theywere sold out in one day in September 1998 as a feature of the OfficialDisneyana Collectibles Convention at the Orlando, Florida location.
Ray Day had also modeled other Americanvernacular pieces and series for Lilliput Lane.He and David Tate, the founder owner and principal sculptor of LilliputLane had similar appreciation of the art and heritage of these olderstructures. and shared a business arrangement for many years. Ray Day is arenowned artist, painter and sculptor from the Mid West.
Memories Of The Magic Kingdom is a modelof the Walt Disney World railway station that was built in the early 1970’s.Each guest coming to the park passes through the station and their memoriesstart there. The station sits at the head of Main Street.
The features are theelegant windows, the metal rails around the roof, the two curved staircases andof course the clock tower that supports the American flag that is included tobe inserted in the built in hole in the center of the clock tower.
The floral image ofMickey Mouse is in front of the rail track and also is the shape of the baselabel that Ray Day has personally signed.
Scattered around the model are a numberof hidden Mickeys. The labels on the base are unique and only found on Disneyitems sculpted by Ray Day. One of the labels is ‘ Mickey ‘ shaped and has beensigned by Ray Day.
