 Offered for your consideration is this most attractive large antique egg form sewing etui dating circa 1880. The porcelain egg measures approx. 9.5 cms in length excluding the lame metal tassle which hangs a further 8.5 cms in length. The egg has a maximum diameter of 6.5 cms.

This fabulous egg etui is made of green porcelain decorated with roses and foliage and has gilt metal rims. The egg has firm hinge and secure closure and opens to reveal a green felt interior which may have been replaced and holds a pair of scissors, a metal thimble and a stiletto.

This fine antique sewing etui is offered in overall good condition. There is a hairline to the lid as pictured. The scissors have tarnish and there are no other faults. Thank you for your interest.
