This is the very desirable and very elusive etching entitled \"Ma Bonnie Bairns\" by Marguerite Kirmse (1885-1954) thatshe did in the Spring of 1927 of a proud West Highland White Terrier and her adorable pups. It is signed and titled inpencil. It is not laid down. It is in perfect condition and newly framed in acid-free mat.
It is a \'grail\' etching for Westie collectors as well as Marguerite Kirmse collectors. Simply a have-to-have-it piece of art.
This is a very charming etching, and perhaps that is why it comes to market so infrequently...who can bare to part with iteven if it is not \'your breed\'?
Oh and I shall be listing another fabulous Westie etching by Cecil Aldin, so if interested do check my other items soon.
I was reluctant to add this but decided to include it now. This particular etching of the Westies is very desirable and very hard to find and lastI know of came out of a popular and well-advertised public sale for $1,500 to the hammer about a year ago. Not includingthe 25% or so dreaded premium. And the only other one for sale is over $2,500. So I feel my price is right in line for a bargainpurchase.
