$349.99

Original Signed* Presentation Plaque

Given to

SENATOR JOHN McCAIN

*Signed by Gary Linfoot, Chief Warrant Officer 4, US Army\'s 160th Special Operations Aviation

(U.S. Army Veteran, Now Retired, Wounded in Iraq)

In Appreciation for

Senator McCain\'s support of the iBot Mobile Technology Program which, in cooperation with the America\'s Huey 091 Foundation, provided the highly advanced iBot wheelchair that Linfoot uses since he was paralyzed from the waist down in his 2008 helicopter accident

[ MORE ON GARY LINFOOT (FROM ONLINE SOURCE)... ]

Chief Warrant Officer 5 Gary A. Linfoot is a retired U.S. Army officer who has the right stuff: a pilot with 5,000 flight hours and 1,200 hours of combat; a veteran of Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom, 2001) and Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom, 2003-08, for 20 combat deployments); a survivor of grave injuries from a helicopter crash; and a high-tech pioneer in the use of an EKSO exoskeleton for paraplegics. Rising to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 5, he enlisted in 1987 as a radar operator, graduated from flight school in 1990 and went on to instruct pilots in the 7th ID and the 82nd Airborne Division. In 1997 he joined the Night Stalkers, the Army’s elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), spending 13 years as an instructor pilot and flight lead. In June 2008, while conducting operations in Iraq, his helicopter crash-landed due to a mechanical failure, breaking Linwood’s back and paralyzing him below the waist. He returned to duty only three months later. His decorations include the Combat Action Badge, Master Aviator Badge, Parachutist badge, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Meritorious Service Medal and the Air Medal. He retired in 2010 and still serves the Night Stalkers as a simulator flight instructor. In October 2013, Linfoot became the first military recipient of an EKSO exoskeleton for home use through a grant from the Infinite Hero Foundation. By Memorial Day of 2014, Gary, with wife Mari and son Hayden as his support, had completed over 100,000 steps using the device.

[ FEATURES AND DETAILS... ]

To be clear, this item was signed by Gary Linfoot and presented to John McCain. It is not signed by McCain.

- The framed plaque is about 25\" x 11\", in a painted wood frame with non-glare glass and hanger hardware.

- It contains THREE 5x7 photographs.

- The first photo is inscribed to John McCain by Linfoot, and it shows him before his accident.

- The second photo -- also inscribed to McCain by Linfoot, shows Linfoot in his iBot, flanked by McCain, and by his wife Mari.

- The third photo is not inscribed. It shows Linfoot in his iBot at a football event, apparently being presented with a flag.

- At the bottom is a 3\"-diameter embroidered patch of the America\'s Huey 091 Foundation.

[ WHAT DO \"NSDQ\" AND \"SGDM\" STAND FOR?... ]

Both of the inscribed photos have the cryptic \"NSDQ!\" and \"SGDM!\"

- NSDQ stands for \"Night Stalkers Don\'t Quit!\" -- the motto of Linfoot\'s special ops unit, the Night Stalkers.

- SGDM is \"Six Guns Don\'t Miss!\" -- which refers to the weaponry with which the Night Stalkers\' modern helicopters -- the AH-6 \"Little Birds\" -- are outfitted.

[ CONDITION... ]

- Beautiful condition -- from a non-smoking environment.

- The frame picked up small scratches from storage and handling, and it has paint touch-ups in the blue and gold areas. (See photos.)

- There is also what appears to be some dust between the glass and the mat. (Final photo)

The above is my good-faith attempt to disclose all noteworthy issues. Keep in mind that vintage/antique items always show their age. (Don\'t we all!?) It would be impossible to mention every tiny detail, so please expect that there will be something about this item (or lot) that\'s not perfect and may need touch-up.
