Japanese Mashiko Pottery Low Bowl Plate Glazed Decoration Grid Pattern Vintage Description and Item Information
Up for sale is this vintage Japanese art pottery low bowl or dish. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This Mashiko piece has an artistically glazed grid pattern as decoration over its simple form. It is approximately 1 7/8 inches tall, with a maximum diameter of about 9 1/8 inches. This piece weighs 1 pound 8.7 ounces, unpacked. It would be a fine addition to a collection of Japanese pottery. Identification
This Japanese piece is unsigned. It is vintage, but the exact age is unknown. Condition
This piece looks great overall, with no chips or cracks. It has light wear overall. As made, there are drips, indents, and extra clay bits; there is a bubbled, rough glaze area to the side of the foot. This type of pottery was not made to be technically perfect.
