JAPANESE GENERAL AWARD CAVALRY HORSE SHOE AND SHELLThis is a very rare Imperial Japanese Army Manchurian Incident era horseshoe AWARD with a CAPTURED CHINESE 7.92 mm cartridge mounted on it.Imperial Japanese Army Manchurian Incident era horseshoe commemoration PAPERWEIGHT called a BUNCHIN. Awarded to officer veterans of the battles.On the top is a brass Imperial Japanese Army star and the kanji reads KOUKA (Radiant Flower) and is signed Araki SadaoOn the bottom it reads SHOWA 8 NEN (1933) and RIKUGUN KINENBI (Army Commemoration ).This was awarded to officers who had participated in battle.The 7.92 cartridge which is mounted on the horseshoe was used during the Manchurian Incident and was collected and sent back to Japan by the Japanese Central China Area Army TROPHY UNIT.The cartridge was likely made at HANSANG Arsenal before 1933.China manufactured and used the 7.9x57 weapons in both rifle and machine gun types during the early 20th century. measures approx. 75 mm x 65 mm x 25 mm. It weighs 242 grams.great condition photos show Baron , Minister, General Araki Sadao and the Japanese Central China Area Army. Sadao was arrested by the Allies and brought before the WAR CRIMES COURT , where he was tried as a Class A WAR CRIMINAL He was convicted and sentenced for \"conspiracy to wage aggressive war\", but was subsequently released in 1955 for health reasons. He died 11 years later. Made on government contract by a company that dealt in medals, awards and trophies. Commissioned by the Army Ministry.
