ISRAELI IDF ELOP MADE, OIL LIQUID, TRITIUM, PRISMATIC COMPASS, ZAHAL, SAYERET For Sale

Quite the curious historical piece of functional equipment. Very rare IDF compass from the 1978 Operation Litani/South Lebanon conflict era.
The compass is built like a tank and works, tritium is still visible. Very interesting piece of IDF and Isreal history. Basically, the Isreali Gov really liked the British Barker M-73 & Stanley type compass, but apparently wanted to save money or produce their own. They ended up violating Englands patent laws, which pissed off the UK gov, so the UK refused to supply parts or tritium to Israel.
So the Israelies improvised and used six (6) small tritium viles, and produced their own very solid and reliable compass for combat operations. These were only produced from 1976 to 1980; How it ended up on American soil is anyone\'s guess.
