Up for sale today is this Hawaii state route 200 sign. Made to the exact state standards as used between 1956 and 1978 along this historic highway. Route 200, also known as Saddle Road, is the famous road across the center of the Big Island, linking Hilo to the island\'s interior. While modern highway engineering have made the road comparatively mundane (or as mundane as a road can be in Hawaii, anyway), the narrow, winding former iterations of the highway could be downright treacherous.
An original of these has not appeared along Saddle Road for many years. You can expect to pay many hundreds or even thousands of dollars on the collector\'s market for one...if any still exist. So here\'s your chance to get your hands on a fantastic display piece...without breaking the bank.
The sign is 16 by 16 inches, and weighs 4 lb. 13 oz.
This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality.
