Up for sale is a Hand signed Nobel Winner Verner von Heidenstam portrait page from Svenska fåglar published in 1929. This is from the Deluxe edition of Svenska Faglar published in Stockholm in 1929. This is the portrait and signed page only. Number 1291 of this edition.
This portrait and signature was the front piece in Volume 1 of the collection of Swedish Ortinology originally done by Magnus von Wright. This came from a broken volume. I have a number of the chromolithographs of birds that were in the volume also for sale. Please note the inscription is printed. The signature is original. On the back of this front sheet is the volume information and numbering 1291.
Sheet measures approximately 11 x 15 and is in good condition. Only issue is the browning stain at upper right. Please note this is for only the signature page. The other page shown is the books title page and is included as a reference. The numbering is on the back of the portrait and obviously is included. I have that sheet published in my other sales for the sheets as well. If you want a copy of it let me know and I will also include that.
