For sale is a very rare Hallicrafters Clock Radio made with a clear Lucite case about 1952. I bought this radio about 25 years ago fully restored. It has been sitting on a shelf in my office all these years. This version of the radio was never sold to the public and was intended to be strictly a dealers display item. The purpose of the clear case was to show off Hallicrafters printed circuit board technology that was destined to replace hand wired electronic devices. If you notice in the picture, this new circuit board faces the front of the radio just behind the red tuning knob. This particular radio is in outstanding condition. The thick lucite case is made from four sections, carefully cut, then drilled, tapped, and screwed together. All the lucite pieces are very good cosmetically. There are some very light scratches, but no cracks. The bottom of the radio has some clouding and discoloration. The pictures tell the story. All of the internal parts are clearly visible. The radio chassis is Hallicrafters while the clock was made by Sessions. Both the radio and clock have all their original knobs and both work properly.This is not unique only because of its lucite cabinet but probably more importantly the revolutionary technology of it\'s time.I will pack it very well.
