Grouping of 2 CSA Photographs,Gold Locket,Letter Published in CONFEDERATE FACES For Sale

See the photos of this all original and genuine Confederate Civil War grouping that was published on the very first page of William A. Albaugh\'s seminal work from 1970 \"Confederate Faces\". The lot includes a 6th plate of a Confederate soldier in a GREAT gutta percha type patriotic case, a GOLD, not gold plated or gold filled, brooch with another IDed CS soldier tintype on one side and an albumen image of his wife on the other side. There is also a small note or letter that goes with the lot. Albaugh wrote the following as the caption for this grouping in his book: \"A gold locket and a cased ambrotype hold in addition to their pictures a portion of an untold war story. One side of the locket contains the likeness (tintype) of H.A.Gosee, a Confederate officer. The reverse side contains a hand-tinted photograph of his lovely wife. The ambrotype is that of an unidentified Confederate soldier. A note behind the ambrotype reads: \'This semblanceof the donor is most respectfully presentedto his much esteemed friend Mrs. H.A.Gosee as a token offriendship and the high appreciation of her many acts of kindness. Hoping at some future time when the recollection of absent friends occupy her thoughts that this simple token may remind her that I too claim a place within her memory.F.M.L.\' Albaugh goes on to finish with \"We wish we knew the whole story.\"
This is a great grouping that is well documented in the most important book ever written about Confederate photographs. Everything is in nice condition except that the brooch is a bit battered as is clearly seen in the photos. I think my price is way less than the true value of this lot.
