Hello There,
Whew, so much to say. I bought this picture on October 31st, 2011. I really wanted original art from the Girl Genius series and had been looking and saving. I choose this picture because it featured many of the supporting characters not only on one page, but also in one panel. This was also a notable time in the plot. Picture 11 is the original receipt of what I paid just for the art work.
I wanted this framed right because I had intentions of keeping this a long time. I took it to get custom framed at the local place with the great reputation. Picture 12 shows some of the break down of the bells and whistles I put into this. First off, the way this is framed is as if it is floating in the frame. Its double matted and everything is acid free/photo safe.
The custom glass is called \"Conservation clear\" this is museum quality glass that reflects harmful rays and keeps original art work from fading. A little about that is located on the sticker on the back of the frame.
Now, the frame. I looked and looked, they had thinner, smaller frames that would have been ok.... They had acrylic and other options that would do the job. However, when I saw this deep solid wood Italian baroque layered, very 3D frame nothing else looked even close to as fantastic! In picture 6 you can see the rich detail invoking a Victorian era historical feel. Perfectly fitting for a steampunk themed story. This beauty measures 27 inches tall by 20 inches wide and about 3 inches deep.
The framed picture as a whole is in PERFECT shape. It has been carefully cared for and delicately cleaned over the few years that I owned it. There are no flaws to report. My total cost in this is $586.56. The book was $18.00 and I no longer have the receipt, but I have all the other receipts.
I also purchased the book that the art work came from. Pictures 3 and 4 show how the ruff draft matches up with the finished picture. Just think....a real person actually drawing to tell a story. Fantastic! The book itself is in excellent condition and will be included in the sale of the picture as will the original receipts. This is heirloom ready! ***** I would even be willing to drive a \'reasonable\' distance to meet you part of the way and hand this over to you. I care about you getting this in pristine condition as shown.******
Also, if the shipping calculator comes out really, really high. Please let me know. This is a very heavy picture, but depending on your location I may be able to reconfigure the shipping to be as realistic as possible. Once again, don\'t be afraid to ask me about meeting up. I occasionally travel out of state for work as well. So, you never know!
