G-45 Gun Camera with film, RAF, Spitfire, Meteor Jet, 1945-1955 Fighter aircraft:
$175.00

Offered here for sale is an authentic, used G-45 Gun Camera, with 2 film cartridges, one of which still has film inside. This gun camera was produced by the Williamson Company in the UK from 1939-1955 and was used in Royal Air Force (RAF) fighter aircraft, including the Hurricane, Spitfire, and Meteor Jet. The camera was used for a variety of purposes, including for training, as well as recording ground and aerial combat results. The camera was synchronized to operate whenever the fighter\'s machine guns or canons were firing.
This model does not bear the \"AM\" designation with the crown logo, so dates sometime between 1945-1955 and was used in postwar fighter aircraft. Please see the photos which clearly shows the serial number and manufacturer marks. The camera is black in finish and has not been refurbished. I can offer no guarantee as to whether the camera is working or not. There is information online about how they could be made to work, but the process would be difficult. Early cameras of this type were 12 volts, late war versions and those in post-war were 24 volts like this one is. The lens provided is a short lens variety and also bears a serial number. The camera does open at least partially, but I have never tried inserting a cartridge. Two cartridges are included here, one w/o film, one which still has film. I make no guarantee about any of the film remaining and whether there might be any images preserved...this seems unlikely, but who knows?
This is a nice opportunity to own a piece of military history, whether you\'re a camera buff or a military aircraft enthusiast. It makes for a great display and conversational piece. Once easy to find, they are now more difficult to locate.
Shipped via USPS ground service . Please feel free to contact me with any questions and thanks for looking.
