-One of the first pre-code horror comic books-First appearance of the Man In Black-This is a major transition often overlooked by historians. Published near the end of WWII, it was ground breaking in utilizing the horror theme in comic books. The first story is actually a WWII story that features the first appearance of \"The Man In Black\", an interesting mix of horror and military themes. The early Joe Kubert drawn story has a fabulous horror splash panel depicting the hero trying to spear a giant octopus that is squashing men and has skulls and bones in the foreground-The additional stories have violent horror elements and imagery-The front cover is a masterpiece of horror by B. Fujie, showing a grave robbery / knife to the head murder scene, note the blood in the dead man\'s hair.-The title did not have a high sell through rate, possibly due to its subject matter and cover art.
