French World War 2 Salvator Modèle A, this mask is a black rubber version of the Civilian Typ Civile 38 or TC-38 Gas Mask,
This mask was issued with a standard TC-38 canister, a civilian Ducel filter, and with the German kit, the Canister would be different, and the mask would feature a 40mm DIN adapter.
The Salvator would have been issued to French Civilians during the Second World War in case of a German Gas Bombing attack, the German Reichsluftschutzbund Air-Raid service so used this mask on occasion, but it was issued with a German Fe filter likely.
This mask is in quite alright condition with only the left eyepiece popping out. There is also a small laceration on the rubber near the filter valve, but it is quite small.
The head harness is a six-point and is made entirely out of rubber with metal buckles. The harness is very comfortable and would have been quite easy to adjust.
The filter for this mask is a standard French 35M filter dated 1938 by Ducel, these are the most common filter to find on any French mask and are occasionally really early, like 1935 early as seen on my poor condition TC-38.
