Offered is a Old Frame of 29 Native American Indian Bird Point Arrowheads from the Bernard Clayton Conger Estate.
This collection was originally put together by Dean Neuschwander as part of his collection and subsequently collected by Conger.
The frame is rough-cut wood. It appears to me handmade rather than store-bought. I suspect it was probably put together in the
1930-1940\'s when people made things rather than buy them at Walmart. The glue on one corner of the frame is letting go from age and needs repair with glue or a small nail. The frame is approx. 10 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches.
The Bird Points are approximately 3/4 inches long. All are of fine craftsmanship and are authentic. They are from the Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee and Illinois area.
As you can see from the pictures, Conger had a very extensive collection. His estate sold off portions of his estate in bulk to various people. Much of what his collections are pieced out without regard to what it is and where it was acquired. I recently was able to purchase a small portion of Conger\'s collections intact. The seller had/has been breaking the collections in to individual points for sale. My opinion is that the framed points should be kept together and not sold individually.
Take a look at the photographs and use your best judgement. This collection would be difficult to replace.
