Fine Antique 19thC French Bronze Music Box w/Painted Enamel Portrait Roundel For Sale

This music box sounds rich, like larger music boxes with a great tone. But the little wire is missing that makes it stop and start when you open the lid. Right now when you wind it up it just plays through the songs-I do not know the names, nor how many different tunes are on the cylinder- it plays at least two tunes. I don\'t think it\'s a big deal to replace the tiny wire because the tube is intact and it needs about an inch long piece-I just don\'t want to screw this up by \"fixing\" it. The enamel is perfect, no crazing even, and is artist signed lower left, right next to the woman\'s face. This box is a beauty. And it\'s heavy. The interior fabric and wood needs to be replaced or set in better. The pieces will ship separate from the box to keep it safe. Outside measurements: 12\" X 4\" X 3.5\" tall. No bends, breaks, cracks or dents-the back left foot looks like it was glued on years ago, but unless you turn it upside-down you could never tell. It really is in fine original condition.
