1930’s Bakelite Tru-Vue viewer in branded Fred Harvey box + 6 original rolls of Southwest themed films. Film strips include Great Southwest 1, 2 & 3 + Old Santa Fe and Grand Canyon 1 & 2.
The 3D films focus on landmarks with comments and tips along the way. A great piece of Southwest history that would have been sold in Fred Harvey souvenir shops located in their famous hotels in the American Southwest
Viewer and films strips are in EXCELLENT condition and in original MINT packaging. Also includes viewer operating instructions (not original).
The Tru-Vue company was founded in 1931 and after the 1933 \"Century of Progress Exposition\" in Chicago grew and flourished through the 1930\'s and 40\'s. The original viewers like this one used 35mm filmstrips, generally containing 14 stereo views, which were pulled through the viewer using a lever.
Viewer is 80+ years old and needs some gentle TLC when loading and pulling strips through.
