This sharp hand etched Ship and Lighthouse colored design on a 440 Stainless Steel Blade LB 3 Knife. This beautiful knife is part of the Scrimshaw Collection, with those words laser engraved into the blade. The LB 3 knifes come with the pictured leather sheath and each scale is made with Bovine Bone. The LB 3 Knife has bolsters and shackle that are nickel silver with brass pins and liner. It is a lock blade knife and a very useful pocket knife. The dimensions of the LB 3 Pocket Knife with the blade closed are 2.97" x 0.76" x 0.31". The blade itself is approximately 2.21" making the width of the knife with an open blade 5.18". The SKU is LB-3 401CY.
The scrimshaw is inked with black india ink and sealed with renaissance wax, which is used by museums for antique restoration. It also helps bring out the beauty of the artwork as well as in the cow bone. The knife is water resistant, but not waterproof.
The back of the knife is a blank Bovine bone.
The artwork was originally hand etched by Donna Ruprecht.She was born in Plymouth, Massachusetts and received her first art supplies for Christmas when she was third grade and was always loved the arts. She has worked for several scrimshaw companies in her artistic career.
Each knife is hand etched, and there will be some minor differences between each knife.
