Etched Double Tall Ship Scrimshaw Collection Large Dual Blade Pocket Knife:
$57.60

This unique hand etched Vertical Double Tall Ship Nautical Scene on a 440 Stainless Steel Dual Blade Knife. The knife design is similar to the Shrade 2222 knife. This beautiful knife is part of the Scrimshaw Collection, with those words laser engraved into the blade. The DB 2222 knifes come with the pictured leather sheath and each scale is made with Bovine Bone. The DB 2222 knife has bolsters that are nickel silver with brass pins and liner. It is a dual blade knife and a very useful pocket knife. The dimensions of the DB 2222 Pocket Knife with the blade closed are 3.48\" x 0.90\" x 0.58\". The large blade itself is approximately 2.67\" making the width of the knife with an open blades 6.15\". The small blades length is approximately 1.90\". The SKU is DB 2222 - 401DC.

The scrimshaw is inked with colored india ink and sealed with renaissance wax, which is used by museums for antique restoration. It also helps bring out the beauty of the artwork as well as in the cow bone. The knife is water resistant, but not waterproof.

The back of the knife is a blank Bovine bone.

The artwork was originally hand etched by Bill Feeney. Hereceived a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Saint Francis College in buyerford, Maine, In 1973 I accepted a teaching position at Westport High School where Imet Robert Rayno, the art teacher. As part of the class curriculum, he taught a section on scrimshaw. I sat in on many of his classes and purchased the necessary tools to begin etching. Combining my natural artistic ability with the techniques learned from Mr. Rayno, the cornerstone of \"Spouting Whale\" was established.

Each knife is hand etched, and there will be some minor differences between each knife.
