EARLY 19TH CENTURY MOTIF & "SENTENCES" SAMPLER BY MARY LYE AGED 8 - c.1835 For Sale

Early 19th century linen and silk work sampler by Mary Lye aged 8. Though undated, the style of stitch work would indicate this piece dates to c.1835 or slightly later. This little sampler is just stunning with fine quality stitch work throughout, the moreso when one considers Mary was just eight years old when she completed it. The upper section of the linen is stitched in red with the following sentences, all underlined with an undulating border

The middle section of the linen is stitched with a central floral motif with a crown above flanked by a floral motif, another crown and a fruit basket which has a crown above and a tree and floral motif to each side. There is a bird standing to each side of the central motif, each with a fruit tree and stag beside them. There is a fruit basket below the central floral motif with a dog standing to the left and right of the basket itself and three motifs to each side of its contents. Mary's name and age are stitched below the fruit basket with two trees, a floral urn and rose basket to each side, the latter with two diamonds beside them. The lower section of the linen is stitched with a central blue bell floral motif with a bird standing to each side with a diamond above them followed by a tree basket, floral motif plus bird and floral tazza, the bird on the floral motif with a heart and small tree to each side. The whole piece is then surrounded by a meandering floral border.The linen has overall discolouration consistent with its age, very slightly darker in places with a couple of small areas of damage. One is just about able to see through these that the sampler appears to be sitting on card or paper. The sampler is behind glass so I'm not able to see the reverse,but the colours of the silks appear good though they are likely to have mellowed to some extent over the years. The sampler is contained within a mid/late 20th century ebonised frame which is in very good condition.
Measures 11" across x 11 3/4"(sight size) and 13" x 13 3/4" including the frame.
I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO MENTION THAT I HAVE USED A NEW CAMERA TO TAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS AND I AM STRUGGLING WITH THE COLOUR BALANCE (something I'm STILL continuing to work on!!) AS SUCH, SOME OF MY PHOTOS HAVE A SLIGHTLY FIERY OR YELLOWISH LOOK TO THEM WHICH IS NOT THE CASE, IT'S JUST MY INCOMPETENCE!PLEASE NOTE - ANY MARKS ETC ON THE PHOTOGRAPHS WHICH I'VE NOT ALREADY MENTIONED ARE FROM THE GLARE AND REFLECTION OF THE GLASS AND NOT ON THE SAMPLER ITSELF.
