Dunhill was incredibly inventive and innovative and introduced the Vernon tenon in 1931 that was advertised as being able to remove the stem while the pipe is still hot. This is the more rare fitting with the Vernon in the shank rather than the stem. The stem is removed by turning it just over 90 degrees counter-clockwise and pulling.
The briar is Algerian and displays amazing ring grain blast and shape 60 is a Dunhill classic. The stem is original but the white spot has been replaced. Super clean throughout and ready to smoke, this now 84 year old is a phenomenal smoker and for the discerning collector! Comes with leather glove as shown.
