Sykes-Fairbairn First Pattern Commando Dagger **styled** PAIR with hand-forged Damascus Steel Blades

Many Sykes Fairbairn knife aficionados will know of the reasonably famous New Zealand-based knife manufacturer Peter Parkinson, who makes superb honest copies of the First Pattern F-S Commando Dagger

The blades Mr. Parkinson uses in his knives are ground by another New Zealand-based knife maker, Brent Sandow

These particular knives were made in their entirety by Mr. Sandow (With the exception of the very fine genuine Damascus Steel) that was created in Taupo, New Zealand by Matt James (no relation) of \"Damascus New Zealand\"


ABOUT the maker of this knife pair....

Brent Sandow is a custom knifemaker from Auckland, New Zealand. He was born in South Africa and grew up hunting and fishing, which is where his love of knives was first instilled in him. He\'s been making custom handmade knives since 1977 and is always improving his manufacturing techniques, designs, and overall quality. He specializes in fixed blades but also makes some very nice gentleman\'s folders

Brent makes very high-end custom knives, and working reproductions of the famous Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting knives, except his ones don\'t break, his knives often go for four figures and there is usually a long wait to get one, they are popular amongst both hunters, collectors and South African mercenaries.

Brent was the son of the late Norman Sandow, who passed away about 5 years ago

Norman was one of the early pioneers of custom knife-making in South Africa (He left some astounding quality art knives)

These knives for sale here (NO WAITING) were custom-ordered by a good friend of mine, a few years ago

I believe that these superbly crafted and iconic knives are almost certainly UNIQUE 1-Off creations

These would be SUPERB presentation GIFTS, or a fine and worthy addition to any serious knife collection
