DESCRIPTIONThis sale is for a very rare vintage USAF B-47B Stratojet bomber from January 1952. I believe it to be a Cruver recognition spotter model. The bomber is in very good vintage condition with the only issue being a bit of separation between the left inside engine and the wing (see photo); otherwise, it is in great condition. There is a hook in the middle of the fuselage at the rear of the wings that was used to hang the bomber from the ceiling in the identification rooms. Underneath the wings are the markings USAF Bomber, B-47 B, Jan 52 and Property of the US Government.
The Cruver Company developed a process using cellulose acetate Post War to manufacture the recognition models, and most were produced in 1/72 scale. The recognition models were painted a matte black using no colors or country markings so that only the aircraft\'s features would be emphasized. Very few original models still exist, and this is the only B-47 B bomber I\'ve ever seen. This bomber is large with a wingspan of approximately 19\" and a length of 17-3/4\".
This rare bomber would be a fantastic addition to your military, not to mention your historic memorabilia collection. Please enlarge and review the accompanying photos for more details. The item in the photos is the exact one you will receive. PAYMENTPayment via PayPal is due within 3 days of sale end.
