Dennis Smith jewelry is probably the most collected from any artist in passing..

His pieces, now more than ever, are being purchased by the connoisseurs of Native American jewelry & going into collectors possessions..His pieces have always had high recognition, but definitely more so, since his unfortunate passing in 2003 & like any body that had a reputable name like dennis once their jewelry goes into collector's hands, they are gone.. His pieces have & will always have 'Investment/Museum/Collector's Quality"..And this colossal ring is a fine example of his earliest works! This rug design jewelry collection featuring

beautiful, intricate rug design motifs reminiscent of

traditional Cochiti Pueblo rug art. The ring features a large Arizona yellow quartzite stone ring size9 face of the ring measures 1"¼x19mm 7mmband ring weight 12.4grams great addition to your collection ❤️ The Cochiti Pueblo is located along the Rio Grande river, about 25 miles southwest of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Prior to Spanish contact, the Cochiti tribe divided. A portion of its people resettled southwards and built what is now known as the San Felipe pueblo. The Cochiti tribe took part in the successful pueblo revolt of 1680.

Cochiti jewelry is often heavy gauge and hand forged. Smooth polished silver and deep stamping are common characteristics. Joe H. Quintana and his son, Cippy Crazyhorse are highly noted Cochiti silversmiths.
