Civil War Era Flask The American Flask and Cap Company Uncleaned Original:

I have done my research and identified this flask as made by The American Flask and Cap Company (estab. 1857, closed 1865)
I have left it in its original uncleaned condition. There is a small square white spot at the top that I believe is merely residue from an earlier price tag. It will come off with a little bit of alcohol.
