CIVIL WAR ERA WARD TAPE PRIMER .69 CAL MUSKET, NON FIRING: $1950.00
This is a very rare Ward tape primer .69 caliber Civil War era Musket. Only a few hundred ever made. Reference \"Flayderman`s Guide to Antique American Firearms\" 9th edition, page 561. This is a complete and working example. It cannot be fired as the barrel has been spliced to original length under the front barrel band. There is also a plug in the muzzle end of the barrel. Original full length ramrod. Various rifles were used for these conversions, this one being an 1812 Whitney. The tape primer was concealed in the hammer and advanced when the hammer was cocked. It still works fine. Stock has small crack between tang and hammer. Otherwise the stock is in nice shape as well as most of the metal. 42\" barrel, 57\" overall. I can provide more pictures if needed to serious individuals. Rare in any condition.USA SALES ONLY!
