About the Author
Corinne Fenton is the author of 25 books for children buther passion is picture books about social history. Her classic picture bookQueenie: One Elephant's Story, illustrated by Peter Gouldthorpe, was an HonourBook in the 2007 Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book of the YearAwards. The Dog on the Tuckerbox, also illustrated by Gouldthorpe, was named aNotable Book in two categories of the 2009 CBCA Awards.
About the Illustrator
Andrew McLean grew up in the Victorian country town ofBairnsdale. He trained as a painter and teacher, and taught in secondaryschools before becoming a lecturer in painting and drawing at CaulfieldInstitute of Technology. He has been a full-time artist now for more thanthirty years. Andrew and his wife Janet have created many picture bookstogether, and Andrew also illustrates books written by other authors. Many ofhis books have been award winners: he has won the Children's Book Council ofAustralia Book of the Year Award three times. Bob the Railway Dog (written byCorinne Fenton) is his first work with Black Dog Books.
