Indicolites that are pure blue (that have no green in them) are extremely rare and indicolites that also are a Paraiba (contains copper and manganese) from Mozambique are the rarest. This is one has a gorgeous navy blue color with some mixed saturated stones to vibrant purple.

Some of the finest Indicolite in the world is found in Minas Gerais, Brazil; in particular at the Pederneira and Cruzeiro mines near the village of Sâo José Da Safira. In addition to Brazil, Indicolite has also been found in Russia, Mexico and Pakistan, and Afghanistan.
