Description
On September 19, 1991 the historical symbols were declared national. Before white-red-white flag and Pogonya (Pursuite) emblem were the symbols of the Belarusian National Republic. Pahonya Emblem depicting a warrior riding a white horse and holding a sword is known in Belarus from very old times - as the emblem of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania it was used by Grand Duch Viten at the end of XIII. Unlike Pogonya, the white-red-white flag was made in 1917 by Klaudzi Duzh-Dusheuski.
