This is an EstateFreshold Indian Seed Potfrom a local Estate home.ItsaBEAUTIFUL CARLA NAMPEYO NATIVE AMERICAN HOPI POTTERY SEED POT THAT WAS HEAVILY CARVED in 1991. It has a Kachina Dancer, Steps & Birds among the carvings, with other symbols as well. It comes in super nice condition as described above with no issues. The Seed Pot is 4.25\" across and 2.5\" tall, with the Seed hole on the side.

Born in 1961, Carla Claw Nampeyo is aHopi-Tewaof the Snow Clan. She is from the First Mesavillage ofShungopaviand is the daughter ofThomas Polacca Nampeyo andGertrude Polacca, and niece of Fannie Nampeyo. Her great-grandmother wasNampeyo of Hano. She seems to have grown up splitting her time between thevillages of Shungopavi and Polacca. Carla is married to Raul Claw (Dineh).She\'s been an active potter since she was 14. Carla\'s father Thomas was a kachina carver and potter. He waswell known for his carved and painted pieces. He seems to have been Carla\'sprimary teacher as she probably watched and worked with him as she grew up andshe still emulates much of his style. Today Carla is known for her miniatures, hersgraffito work and her deep-carved polychrome seed pots and jars. Her favoritedesigns include warriors, clowns, katsinas and traditional geometrics. Some of Carla\'s work is included in the object collection ofthe Heard Museum.
