Artillery Shell Trench Art Tankard/Mug, North African Campaign: $175.00
Extremely unique and rare WWII Trench Art Drinking Tankard made out of brass salvaged from the battlefields of North Africa. How do I know that? It is inscribed on the Tankard. Ok, I had to look up what a Tankard was. But, see the photos as the word Tankard is inscribed on the Artillery shell (or tank shell). This cool piece has the events and dates of the North African campaign engraved on it. The first event is the American landings in Morocco on 8 November 1942. Other events engraved on the mug, (sorry, Tankard) are the First Army invasion of Algeria, the flanking of the Mareth Line, the meeting of Churchill, de Gaulle, and Roosevelt, the fall of Tripoli and Tobruk, the retreat of Rommel, and Montgomery\'s attack on Alamein. There are depicted tanks, warships, soldiers, the Mediterranean Sea, the pyramids of Cairo, and palm trees. Look at the photos as this is a really cool one of a kind item. You will never find one like this again. Own a piece of history with this nice Tankard, Mug, Artillery Shell, Tank Shell, or whatever you want to call it. Fill it up with your favorite beverage and taste the History of WWII and the North African campaign. DUIYT (Drink Up In Your Tankard).Shipped USPS Priority Mail. Shipped internationally with International Standard Delivery.International buyers are responsible for any import taxes/fees.The item offered for sale is from my father\'s personal collection of over 50 years which began in the late 1960\'s through his recent passing. Back then, items were readily available directly from Veterans. We put WWII wanted signs up everywhere. Later when my interests were more of an adolescent nature, I was no longer involved in his collection which continued to obsessively grow. Since the 1980\'s, I only had a limited knowledge of his collection activities other than particularly neat items that he found which we talked about on the phone. His collection grew from trading, flea markets, Veteran\'s families, and later the internet. I never had the vast knowledge of militaria that my father did. So, mistakes on my part will be made when describing items. I have described this item to the best of my ability but I am not an expert. If you have any questions, please ask before offerding. Ask for any additional photos to help you judge if this item is for you.Returns, at buyer\'s expense with a 3 day inspection period from receipt of item, only for inaccurately described items.Check out my other sales (and my ) as Igradually unpack andcontinue to list over 50 years of collected history.
